Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are Legacy Dance classes open to boys and girls?

YES! Legacy Dance offers classes for both boys and girls ages 2 and up. Every student is welcome here!

  • Can parents be in the classes with their students?

Parents of Legacy Tots (2-3 year olds) are encouraged to attend classes alongside their little ones. For all other ages, dance class is the perfect opportunity for students to build their confidence, independence, and self-esteem along with their individuality. For these reasons, we do not allow parents in classes with students other than the Legacy Tots.

  • How long is each class?

Our Legacy Tots (2-3 year olds), Micro Minis (3-5 year olds), and Solo classes are 30 minutes long. All other classes are 45 minutes long.

  • How do I know if a class is canceled due to bad weather?

We will post announcements of weather cancellations on our website, on our Facebook page, and on Instagram @legacydancefactoryky

  • Are there dance recitals at Legacy?

You bet! Every class will have a winter and spring recital, giving your little dancer two opportunities to perform and show you what they have learned!

Awards will being given out at the end of the spring recital to celebrate every dancer’s accomplishments.

  • Does Legacy participate in dance competitions?

No. Legacy was created to introduce children to the world of dance in a safe and nurturing non-competitive environment where all students feel comfortable and free to express themselves. Our goal is help kids exercise, socialize, and develop a positive self-image and pride in accomplishment, not win trophies.

No dance moms here, only confident, inspired, strong children!

  • Are the monthly class fees the same, regardless of the number of weekly classes that month allows (3,4,5)?

Yes, the tuition is the same for each calendar month regardless of number of classes held that month. We have taken the cost of a season of dance classes and broken them up into monthly payments to make these classes more accessible.

  • Do you schedule make-up classes if a class is canceled?

We very rarely cancel classes, but when we do, we do not make up classes.

  • Is a student’s account credited in case of their absence, or a make-up date arranged?

No, unfortunately we are not able to schedule make-up classes for a single student, and we do not credit accounts.

  • Do you offer prorated fees?

No, we are not able to offer prorated fees at this time.

  • Is the registration fee non-refundable?

The registration fee is non-refundable, because that holds your child’s spot in a class. To ensure that our classes remain small, we will turn away other students if the class is full.

  • Are late fees charged?

Our parents have been wonderful about paying for monthly classes on time, so at this point we do not have to charge any late fees. We ask that you pay your tuition the first week of each month.

  • When are costume fees due in relation to recital date?

Costume fees are due in October for the winter recital and in February for the spring recital.

  • If a class has very low enrollment, will it be canceled?

We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment.
